IELTS Listening is conducted first among other Tests (Reading, Writing, Speaking). Listening test is same for both the Academic and General Training IELTS.

40 Questions are divided into 4 Sections.
Section 1: Questions 1-10 (Conversation between 2 persons)
Section 2: Questions 11-20 (Monologue)
Section 3: Questions 21-30 (Conversations between 2-4 persons)
Section 4: Questions 31-40 (Monologue)
The conversations in Section 1 and 2 are of General Everyday Conversations.
The conversations in Section 3 and 4 are of Academic context.
